Honoring the ideals of service, brotherhood, and integrity, Phi Kappa Psi originated over 150 years ago when its two founders, caring for friends stricken by typhoid, wanted to find a way to continue helping others. One hundred and sixty-two years later, Phi Psi is known for its commitment to the communities it serves, its partnership with the Boys and Girls Clubs of America, and the mentorship and leadership of members and alumni throughout the organization. The Foundation began in 1914, with the explicit goal of funding Phi Psi programs and membership through financial support and scholarships.
Like many Greek organizations, the Phi Psi Foundation has looked for new ways to engage young alums and increase both one-time donations and legacy giving. Previously, donors gave to the organization as a whole, and funds were disseminated throughout Phi Psi’s chapters, programs, and initiatives.
As Phi Psi’s trusted marketing partner, we designed a campaign featuring the organization’s latest development—a chapter giving function that allows alumni to donate at the local level, ensuring that funds go to the chapter of their choosing. We developed a full range of marketing materials, including a video and a Chapter Leadership Challenge, which encouraged members to create teams and raise funds to support their chapter throughout 2016. So far, more than $50,000 has been generated to fund individual chapters.
