You insure your family, your home, and your car so you have a safety net when unforeseen circumstances occur. But who’s the safety net for your insurance company? The National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies (NAMIC) has been around for more than 120 years, and in that time, they’ve supported nearly 1,500 member organizations, extending to millions of policyholders across the U.S. and Canada. NAMIC provides educational and leadership opportunities, as well as products and resources relevant to mutual insurance providers.
NMagazine is NAMIC’s quarterly publication that provides members with invaluable information on the always-evolving insurance industry. Topics include everything from emerging issues in insurance, advocacy, and regulations and financial reforms that impact the way insurance companies do business. In-depth articles educate and inform readers on everything from best business practices to corporate governance to cyber security. As well, the publication details NAMIC’s substantial portfolio of educational events, tools, and products. With so much content, the magazine was often heavy on text and not all that visually appealing. When a staff change left NAMIC in a bind to get the magazine laid out and sent to the presses, they turned to us for help.
With quick thinking and a little spur-of-the-moment planning, we were able to leap into action and fill NAMIC’s immediate need. However, we didn’t just want to slap a band-aid on it. Instead, we followed up that quick turnaround with recommendations and best practices for future publications. We put together a strategy to make the magazine more visual, more streamlined and more appealing for readers. And that strategy is working. The improvements have been noticed by readers and C-suite execs who are reaching out to NAMIC with positive feedback and appreciation. A year later, and we’re still going strong!
